Setting up the plugins

@phani00 Once the site is up it needs any standard WP plugins like Wordfence.

The main plugin that will serve the directory is

GeoDirectory – WP Business Directory Plugin and Classified Listings Directory – WordPress plugin | WordPress.org

this means exporting the centers from the present site and importing them into the new one, right?

The goal is to make ISKCON Connection civi the “source of truth” for the data on centers.iskcon.org.

This would be done through a script or a plugin that would use civi api to pull data on a scheduled time.

Is this something you feel comfortable doing? Otherwise one devotee, Tota Gopinath, who has a lot of professional experience with Civi could do it.

I have already exported the text data from the existing site and cleaned it up, merging it with Civi and other data. But there are images on the existing site that would need to be brought over and connected.

This could be done by a geo-directory plugin that importa from job manager, the plugin on the existing site.

Or we could move the images to our server, capture the urls and import them into the respective civi contacts. This assumes there is a way to then connect these with geo-directory.

not as comfortable as he probably is, if he really knows CiviCRM in & out. do you have to pay for his time or does he serve for free? either way, how much time does he have?

if his time is limited, because he’s too busy and / or costs too much, he could help by pointing me into the right direction since i’ve never really worked with civic’s REST API and would have to find my way around.

there’s also the issue of upgrading CiviCRM where i got stuck with some dependency that seems not to work with the latest version of civic. perhaps he can help with that too?

i seem to remember the name, tota gopinath, but not really. may be you can introduce us?
